Fresh off of his upside down video performance of last year in “Fatty Pop”,
D.Willz is back with a real world and raw depiction of his historic and
hysteric party lifestyle in the newly released video, “I Drank, I Smoke”.
“I Drank, I Smoke”, produced
by long-time collaborator Mark Kragen and brought to you by 2Fresh
Entertainment, is the lead single release from D.Willz’s Hood Pop 2 album.
Featuring Kragen’s bouncing 808 drums and distorted toms combined with DWillz’s
infectiously repetitious and perfectly pitched hook, “I Drank, I Smoke” truly
embodies D.Willz party swagger.

Jerome, “I Drank, I Smoke” is a homage to Method Man and Redman's "How
High" movie, shot with wide-angle lenses and
featuring a classic throwback 90's look.
In the video, D.Willz wakes up, turns on the television and sees himself
on screen performing. Then the hysteria begins.
As the on screen madness continues, D.Willz and guest feature EQ find
themselves performing on television as a modern day set of Blues Brothers. The evolving split screen vertical side
panels are a innovative touch by director Jerome, rotating throughout the video
providing a visual counterpoint as images of pouring beers, red plastic cups,
champagne and dancing women spice up the party atmosphere.
“I Drank I Smoke” finds D.Willz looking back to his past for inspiration as
he moves forward with Hood Pop 2.

Hood Pop 2 featured on Hot New Hip Hop
2012 has started well year for Bay Area rapper D.Willz. The Hood Pop 2 mixtape has been officially released via www.hotnewhiphop.com and his "Fatty Pop" music video is currently in rotation on MTV JAMS and MTVu. Hood Pop 2 contains all original songs, produced by long time collaborator Mark Kragen and features artists such as Moe Green, Starting Six, Lil Rue, Mistah Fab, Young Murph and more.

D.Willz "Fatty Pop" music video
“Fatty Pop”, produced by long time collaborator Mark Kragen and brought to you by 2Fresh Entertainment, is the second single release from D.Willz’s Hood Pop album. With a bouncing contemporary urban electro beat and targeting the female dance club audience, Fatty Pop combines urban swagger with real pop sensibility.
D.Willz maintains his out of the box tradition and sense of humor in this new video. Hoisted upside down and helped by his crew, D.Willz is clamped to hydraulic air conditioning lifts. Then he is raised in the air and the organized chaos begins as basketballs float, champagne flows, panties drop, aquariums lose their fish and Hershey’s chocolate syrup pours across the screen. The video effects, directed by Raremink, are visually stunning and perfectly compliment the music.
Making the video was a demanding physical challenge as D.Willz found himself hanging upside down for more than 3 and ½ minutes at a time. “Being upside down is not as simple as it looks, the blood rushes to your head and a lot of pain is involved and your equilibrium is thrown off completely. There is a lot of pain but once you see the final product, it is worth it.” Viewers will agree.
"Fatty Pop" is now available for viewing online after being exclusively world premiered on MTV Jams and MTVu monday.

2011 has been a breakout year for Bay Area rapper D.Willz and he shows no signs of hitting the brakes as it comes to close. After racking up over 570,000 youtube views, winning the best freshmen video on MTVu and a nomination in the best lyrics video category at the MTV OMA awards, D.Willz is back, with Hood Pop 2, and a new music video directed by Aris Jerome.
